Ab initio study of the stabilities of silacyclobutadiene and silatetrahedrane (silatricyclo[1.1.0.02,4]butane)

Abstract

Silatetrahedrane is found to be more than 30 kcal/mol (1 cal = 4·184 J) higher in energy than silacyclobutadiene and 23 kcal/mol lower than its triple-bonded dissociation products.
