Reactions of solid iron(III) oxides with aqueous reducing agents

Abstract

One-electron reducing agents dissolve oxides containing FeIII including ‘insoluble’ nickel ferrite; the mechanisms of such reactions can be interpreted by analogy with homogeneous electron-transfer reactions.
