Polynuclear mixed-metal thiolate complexes with D-penicillamine

Abstract

Diamagnetic cluster-compounds of composition [M₈^IM₆^II{SC(Me)₂CH(NH₂)CO₂}₁₂Cl]^5– with M₈^IM₆^II= Cu₈^INi₆^II, Ag₈^INi₆^II, and Ag₈^IPd₆^II are structually related to the well characterized Cu₈^I Cu₆^II compound so that the M^I atoms are trigonally co-ordinated by 3 sulphur atoms and the M^II atoms are planar 4-co-ordinated by 2 sulphur and 2 nitrogen atoms.
