Polyfluoro carbonyl compounds as traps for aryl-fused cyclopropenones

Abstract

Hexa- and penta-fluoroacetone effectively trap aryl-fused cyclopropenones either in the gas-phase or solution by means of a [3 + 2]-cycloaddition reaction giving γ-lactones.
