Positional isomers in the 4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-3-oxo-2H-indazolecarboxylic acid series

Abstract

The synthesis of previously inaccessible diethyl 2-oxocyclohexane-1, 4-dicarboxylate (10) and its conversion into 4, 5, 6, 7-tetrahydro-3-oxo-2H-indazole-6-carboxylic acid (5) is described. The indazole ring formation was shown to be dependent upon the reaction media.
