Reduction by polymetallic complex hydrides. Part 1. Dihydrobis(pyrazol-1-yl)borates of transition metals with cyclohexanone and cyclohex-3-enone

Abstract

The reactivity of CoII, NiII, CdII, CuII, and ZnII dihydrobis(pyrazol-1 -yl)borates have been tested towards the ketonic function of cyclohexanone and cyclohex-3-enone under various experimental conditions. Reduction rate and selectivity vary with the nature of the transition metal, independently of both the molar ratio of hydride to ketone and the temperature.
