Vibrational energy transfer between N2O and CO2

Abstract

Measurements have been made of the vibrational relaxation times of mixtures of CO2 and N2O in the temperature range 750 to 360 K. The importance of (VV) coupling between the bending and stretching modes of these molecules has been demonstrated. The coupling probability must be > 10–3.
