Molecular complexes between substituted indoles and tetracyanoethylene

Abstract

Charge transfer complexes between substituted indoles and tetracyanoethylene in carbon tetrachloride have been studied at 20°C and Kct values have been determined. The results indicate a strong positional effect and an additivity effect for polysubstituted indoles. Enthalpy and entropy changes have been determined and discussed.
