An antimony-121 Mössbauer study of some complexes of antimony trifluoride with chloride, bromide, and oxalate anions

Abstract

Antimony-121 Mössbauer spectra have been recorded at liquid-helium temperatures for some complex salts derived from SbF3: Cs[SbClF3], M[SbBrF3](M =[NH4]+, Rb+, or Cs+), Na[SbBrF3]·H2O, M2[C2O4(SbF3)2](M = Na+ or K+), Rb2[C2O4(SbF3)2]·6H2O, and Cs2[C2O4(SbF3)2]·4H2O. The Mössbauer data indicate that in each case the antimony lone pair of electrons is stereochemically active.
