Stereoselective formation of aromatic sulphoxides by oxidation of sulphides and sulphoxides in the presence of bovine serum albumin

Abstract

The two-stage stereoselective oxidation of aromatic sulphides and sulphoxides in the presence of bovine serum albumin produced optically active sulphoxides in exceptionally high optical purity compared to those obtained by sulphide-oxidizing micro-organisms.
