SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE
The dianions of 3-isobutoxycyclopent-2-en-1-ones were readily generated with 2·2 mol. equiv. of lithium di-isopropylamide or lithium bis(trimethylsilyl)amide and their reactions with various electrophiles provided corresponding dialkyl derivatives including the cis-bicyclo[3.3.0]octenone system in good yields.
