Alumina catalysed inversion of bridged biphenyls

Abstract

Hindered bridged biphenyls which, in the bridging ring, contain a carbonyl group adjacent to one of the aromatic rings, are shown to undergo effectively rotational isomerization when adsorbed on alumina.
