Total syntheses of the methyl ether ester derivatives of the coccid anthraquinones laccaic acid D and kermesic acid

Abstract

4-Methoxy-2-trimethylsiloxypenta-1,3-diene and its 3-methoxycarbonyl derivative react readily and regiospecifically with halogenoquinones; the reactions have led to simple syntheses of deoxyerythrolaccin, laccaic acid D, and kermesic acid.
