Azomethine derivatives. Part 18. Diphenyl-, di-p-tolyl-, and di-t-butyl-methyleneamino-derivatives of phosphorus

Abstract

Reactions between methyleneaminolithium reagents Li(N:CR₂)(R = Ph, C₆H₄Me-p, or Bu^t) and the phosphorus chlorides PCl₃, PPh₂Cl, or PCl₃O have been used to prepare methyleneamino-derivatives of phosphorus of the following formula types: PCl₂(N:CR₂), P(N:CR₂)₃, PPh₂(N:CR₂), P(N:CR₂)₃O, PCl(N:CR₂)₂O, and PCl₂(N:CR₂)O. Features of their i.r., ¹H and ³¹P n.m.r., and mass spectra are reported and discussed.
