Flash-vacuum pyrolysis of 1,3-oxazin-2- and -6-ones

Abstract

On flash-vacuum pyrolysis, the oxazinone (3) is fragmented to diphenylacetylene, benzonitrile, and carbon dioxide; the oxazinones (4) and (6), on the other hand, undergo ring-opening to the isocyanates (5) and (7), respectively, which cyclise at room temperature.
