A new and versatile chelating dithio ligand: X-ray crystal structure of [Ru(CO)(SC6H3Me-o-SC6H4Me)(η-C5H5)]

Abstract

Under u.v. radiation diaryl disulphides (C6H4-p-R)2S2(R = H or Me) yield (C6H3R-o-SC6H4R)2S2, which reacts with a variety of transition metal complexes to provide metallacycles [graphic omitted]C6H4R; one of these [Ru(CO)(SC6H3Me-o-SC6H4Me)(η-C5H5)], has been structurally identified by X-ray diffraction.
