Chemistry of the S[double bond, length half m-dash]O bond. Part 6. Infrared and Raman spectra of some methyl-substituted trimethylene sulphites

Abstract

The i.r. and Raman spectra of twenty-five methyl-substituted trimethylene sulphites (1,3,2-dioxathian 2-oxides) have been examined in the 1 400–250 cm–1 region. A number of bands have been assigned and appear to be characteristic of alkyl 1,3,2-dioxathians.
