Polymer polydispersity analysis in photon correlation spectroscopy

Abstract

The development of a method of obtaining polymer characterization information from photon correlation spectroscopy is described. The moments of correlation functions from polydisperse polymers have been related to polymer distribution functions for Schulz, two-exponential and lognormal distributions. This technique is shown to give Mw and Mz/Mw for the samples studied in good agreement with independent GPC measurements.
