Q4-dependent broadening in quasielastic incoherent neutron scattering from a polymer melt

Abstract

Quasielastic scattering data measured at medium and at high resolution, as a function of momentum transfer (Q), for polydimethylsiloxane melts at 23°C require a Q4-dependent broadening to describe the data. A functional form of the scattering law, S(Q, ω), which satisfies this criterion is discussed.
