Thermochemistry of polyhalides. Part 1. Caesium and rubidium di-chloroiodates(I)

Abstract

The standard enthalpies of formation of crystalline Cs[ICl2] and Rb[ICl2] have been determined as –511.1 ± 4.1 and –491.4 ± 4.1 kJ mol–1 respectively, based on enthalpies of reaction with aqueous silver(I) nitrate. The results are discussed in relation to various thermodynamic parameters.
