Reactions using micellar system: photochemical dimerization of acenaphthylene

Abstract

The photochemical dimerization of acenaphthylene in micelles of nonionic and anionic surfactants gives good yields (>90%) of photodimers even with low concentrations which gave no dimeric products in benzene solution.
