X-Ray crystal structure of a new red, monoclinic form of cyclo-octaselenium, Se8

Abstract

Red monoclinic prisms, shown by X-ray structure analysis to be an allotrope of cyclo-octaselenium but different from α- and β-monoclinic selenium, crystallized from a solution of dipiperidinotetraselane in carbon disulphide.
