New β-acylcarbanion equivalent based on allyltrimethylsilane chemistry

Abstract

The allylanion (4) derived from allyltrimethylsilane reacts with carbonyl compounds to give δ-hydroxyvinylsilanes which can be readily converted into γ-lactols and γ-lactones.
