Synthesis of the trisulphur trinitride anion, S3N3

Abstract

Reaction of caesium or tetra-alkylammonium azides with tetrasulphur tetranitride in ethanol produces salts of the trisulphur trinitride anion, S3N3, which, on the basis of vibrational spectra, has a cyclic structure.
