Mechanism of the thermal decomposition of tetra-aryltellurium species

Abstract

Tetra-aryltellurium compounds decompose thermally to biaryls and diaryl tellurides via a concerted pathway which is preceded by a rapid ligand exchange process on TeIV species; diaryl tellurides do not undergo ligand exchange under comparable conditions.
