Correlation between resonance energies per π electron and Sondheimer's rates of formation of macrocyclic annulenes

Abstract

An excellent correlation of the rates of formation of [12]-, [14]-, [16]- and [18]-annulenes with their calculated resonance energies per π electron (REPE) has been found.
