Concomitant photoaquation–photo-isomerization of cis-dichlorotetra-amminerhodium(III), cis-[Rh(NH3)4Cl2]+
Abstract
Photolysis of the lowest ligand field (LF) band of aqueous cis-[Rh(NH3)4Cl2]+ leads cleanly to the formation of trans-[Rh(NH3)4(H2O)Cl]2+ as the only detectable product with a quantum yield of 0·33 mol einstein–1.
