Adsorption of fluids. Improved calculation of the density profile

Abstract

Two new formulations of adsorption theory, based on the first equation of the BBGKY-hierarchy for the fluid with a simple approximation for the two-particle fluid distribution function, are presented. Comparisons with other numerical calculations of more approximate theories are made at densities and temperatures above the critical point. Density profiles and adsorption isotherms are compared.
