Hydration-dehydration constants of α,α,α-trifluoroacetophenone by spectral and electrochemical methods

Abstract

Values of hydration-dehydration equilibrium constants (Kd) for aqueous solutions of α,α,α-trifluoroacetophenone have been determined by 3 spectral and 2 electrochemical procedures. The values of Kd vary from 0.0036 to 0.018 (25°C). The sources of errors in individual techniques are discussed, but none of the techniques used can be at present considered superior to any other.
