Solubility of long-chain n-paraffins in pentane and heptane

Abstract

The solubility of the three paraffins octacosane, dotriacontane and hexatriacontane in each of the two solvents pentane and heptane have been measured in the temperature interval 10–35°C. The results follow with high accuracy a relation of the form lnx2Sd/R–ΔHd/RT. The values of the parameters ΔHd and ΔSd involved in dissolution are given for the six systems.
