Methyleneamido-complexes of rhenium

Abstract

Alkylimido-complexes [ReCl3(NR)(PR′3)2](PR′3= tertiary phosphine) react with bases such as pyridine to yield methyleneamido-complexes, which contain the group –N[double bond, length half m-dash]CHR (R = H or alkyl). Acids reconvert the methylene-amido-complexes into alkylimido-complexes.
