The hepta(µ2-benzenethiolato)pentacuprate(I) dianion; X-ray crystal and molecular structure

Abstract

Soluble benzenethiolato-cuprate(I) complexes [Me4N]n[{Cu2(SPh)3}n] and [Me4N]2[Cu5(SPh)7] are formed in ethanol; the crystal structure of the latter is composed of [Cu5(µ2-SPh)7]2– molecular clusters containing linear and trigonal planar copper co-ordination.
