Complexes [Ru(CO)2XMe(PMe2Ph)2](X = Cl, Br, or I) react rapidly and reversibly with CO to form acetyl complexes [Ru(CO)2X(COMe)(PMe2Ph)2]; the rate and stereochemistry of the interconversion are strongly dependent on the nature of the ligand X.
