Carbon-skeleton rearrangement of the alkyl ligand in a vitamin B12 derivative

Abstract

Cyclopropylmethylcobalamin is isomerised to but-3-enylcobalamin in solution at 60 °C and in the presence of oxygen at a rate which is virtually independent of the dielectric constant of the solvent.
