Reaction of cis-[Mo(CO)2(dmpe)2](dmpe = Me2PCH2CH2PMe2) with RX (CCl4 or PhCH2Br), Me3CI, AgNO2, and Ag2SO4 gives the molybdenum(II) products [MoX(CO)2(dmpe)2]X (X = Cl, Br), [MoH(CO)2(dmpe)2]I, [Mo(CO)(NO)(NO2)(dmpe)2] and [Mo(CO)(SO4)(dmpe)2], respectively as a result of the elimination of neutral species.
