The diphenylmethyleneaminomagnesium bromide tetrahydrofuran adduct Mg2Br2(THF)2(µ-N:CPh2)2(µ-THF); X-ray crystal structure

Abstract

Two tetrahydrofuran (THF) adducts of diphenylmethyleneaminomagnesium bromide have been isolated, of formulae Mg2Br2(N:CPh2)2(THF)3 and Mg2-Br2(N:CPh2)2(THF)2: an X-ray crystallographic study of the former has shown it to contain bridging THF molecules, attached to the magnesium atoms by unusually long bonds.
