Properties of polyamide-based catalysts. Part I. Hydrodehalogenation of chlorobenzene

Abstract

The activities and selectivities of platinum–, rhodium–, and palladium–poly-p-phenyleneterephthalamide catalysts were compared for the hydrodehalogenation of chlorobenzene, and differences in reactivity with respect to conventional AI2O3-based catalysts were disclosed. Conversions of PhCI decrease in the order Pd > Rh > Pt. A reaction mechanism is proposed to interpret the results.
