Determination of the substitution pattern of an isoxazole by 13C nuclear magnetic resonance

Abstract

The isoxazole obtained by condensation of nitroethane and 6-bromopiperonal is shown to have the 3,5-dimethyl-4-aryl structure (6) by comparison of its 13C n.m.r. spectrum with those of several model compounds.
