Elucidation of the structure of gibberellin A40 from Gibberella fujikuroi

Abstract

A new gibberellin (A40) isolated from the culture filtrate of Gibberella fujikuroi has been identified as ent-2β,10-dihydroxy-20-norgibberell-16-ene-7,19-dioic acid 19-10-lactone (1) on the basis of 13C n.m.r. measurements and conversion into deoxygibberellin A5 methyl ester (10).
