An improved synthesis of the compound [(η-C5H5)(η-C6H6)Mo] is described and the new ‘bent’ sandwich compounds [(η-C5H5)(η-C6H6)MoX](X = Me, Cl or I) and [(η-C5H5)(η-C6H6)MoL]+PF6–(L = C2H4, C2H2, or PPh3) are reported.
