Conformation of 1,2,6-cyclononatriene

Abstract

1,2,6-Cyclononatriene is shown by 13C n.m.r. to exist in an unsymmetrical twist-boat-chair conformation that can undergo a hindered pseudorotation (barrier height of 12.9 kcal mol–1) to achieve a C2 time-averaged symmetry.
