The mechanism of the dye-sensitised photo-oxygenation of amines

Abstract

The photo-oxygenation of triethylamine, sensitised by Rose Bengal, is shown to involve both singlet oxygen and radical intermediates; the extent to which these are involved being dependent on amine concentration.
