A complementation of the crystal field for tetrahedral intensities

Abstract

The perturbation of the ligands by the metal ion, in contrast to the converse procedure of traditional crystal field theory, accounts satisfactory for the relatively strong d-electron absorption bands of the tetrahedral transition-metal tetrahalides.
