Isomeric (η5-C5H5)NiB9H9 metalloborane anions from B9H12 and nickelocene

Abstract

Reaction of B9H12 and Ni(C5H5)2 with Na amalgam gives the metalloborane [(η5-C5H5)-2-Ni(η5-B9H9)] which is quantitatively converted to a second isomer [(η5-C5H5)-1-Ni(η4-B9H9)] by thermal isotion.
