1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance evidence for a long-lived thiirenium ion

Abstract

Trimethyl- and 1-methyl-2,3-diethyl-thiirenium ions have been observed by n.m.r. spectroscopy as stable species in liquid SO2 at low temperature.
