The determination of polycyclic hydrocarbons in yeast

Abstract

In the analysis of yeast to determine its polycyclic hydrocarbons content, difficulty was encountered when using a published method that employed several stages of column chromatography. The substitution of one such stage with an already published paper-chromatographic separation overcame this difficulty. An analysis of a British yeast that is currently being produced is reported.
