Generalized treatment of aromatic hydrocarbons. Part 1.—Triatomic additivity applications to parent aromatic hydrocarbons

Abstract

The method of triatomic partitioning of energy introduced in part 3 has now been extended to aromatic hydrocarbons. Corrections for 1,4 and higher H…H interactions of the polynuclear aromatic compounds (PNA) have been applied. The method is applicable to polyphenyls and may be extended to substituted aromatic compounds.
