Complexes of pyridine-2-thiol with some transition metals

Abstract

Pyridine-2-thiol (LH) complexes of iron(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), copper(I), rhodium(II), and palladium-(II) have been prepared and characterised by infrared and electronic spectroscopy and by magnetic susceptibility measurements. With the exception of PdL2(LH) all the complexes have unidentate pyridine-2-thiol, most of them showing an N–H stretching frequency confirming other evidence that the donor atom is sulphur.
