Benzophenonethio-oximate ion

Abstract

The reaction between bis-(diphenylmethylenamino) disulphide and n-butyl-lithium gives the anion of benzophenone thio-oxime which can be trapped with 2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene to give N-(2,4-dinitrophenylthio)diphenylmethylenamine.
