The external heavy atom effect on the photodimerization of thianaphthene 1,1-dioxide

Abstract

Bromoethane enhances the quantum yield of photodimerization of thianaphthene 1,1-dioxide by externally perturbing spin-orbital coupling and thereby enhancing intersystem crossing to the reactive triplet.
